Stainless Steel Butt Weld Elbow
Stainless butt weld elbows are hot-pressed/forged fittings connecting pipes via direct butt welding. Featuring beveled ends for strong welds, they redirect flow in high-pressure, high-temperature piping systems (nuclear, chemical, petrochemical). Their precision welding reduces aerodynamic noise, ensures low resistance, and maintains fluid dynamics with minimal maintenance. Ideal for permanent, durable installations.

Note: The above dimensions comply with GB/T12349, GB/T13401, ASME B16.9 standards. In addition, they can also be manufactured according to GB/T10752, SH3408, SH3409, HG/T21631, HG/T21635, SY/T0510, ASME B16.28, DIN2605, DL/T695, EN10253 and other standards.
How we classify the steel butt-weld elbow?
Pipelink has vast expertise in providing our clients with various kinds of butt weld elbows which can be classified upon the below factors.
● Curvature Radius
Short radius butt welding elbows: the radius of curvature is equal to the outer diameter of the pipe (r=1d).
Long radius butt welding elbows: the radius of curvature is 1.5 times the diameter of the pipe (R=1.5d).
● Pressure Level
Sch5s, Sch10s, Sch20s, Sch40s: Thin-walled series, used for low-pressure environments
Sch80s, Sch100s, Sch120s, Sch140s, Sch160s: For relatively thick-walled structures, the pressure-bearing capacity is higher than that of the thin-walled series, suitable for medium and low-pressure pipeline systems
XXS (Extra thick pipe): Withstand higher pressure and used for high-pressure special pipeline systems
● Elbow Angle
45 degree, 90 degree , 180 degree and other degrees can be customized.
● Material
The butt weld elbow can be made of carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, low temperature steel and high-performance steel.
How do we guarantee superior and consistent quality?
We adhere to precise manufacturing processes and a strict quality management system to ensure that we provide our customers with high-quality products.

Cutting materials: Cut the selected materials and check whether the cut is smooth and free of burrs, etc.
Heating materials: Heating treatment is applied to pipes and elbows to facilitate the formation of good welds at the joints, with temperature and time varying according to the materials.
Molding: After heating, place the pipes and elbows into the molding die and apply pressure to shape them, checking if they meet the specified size requirements.
Welding: Use rods coated with flux for welding, controlling the welding current and voltage, and perform butt welding on the shaped pipes and elbows.
Inspection: Conduct strict inspections on welding quality, dimensional accuracy, etc., to ensure that the welded elbows can withstand the tests of high pressure and high temperature in adverse environments.
In which fields are these butt-welded elbows used?
Oil and chemical industry:Used for the transportation of crude oil, natural gas, chemical products, and various fluids.
Municipal construction: Applied in the laying and connection of pipelines for urban water supply, heating, and gas.
Pharmaceutical and food industry: Used for the transportation of medicines, food ingredients, etc., with sanitary performance meeting relevant standards.
Shipbuilding: Used in the internal piping systems of ships to ensure normal operation.
Machinery manufacturing: Used in fluid transportation systems within various mechanical equipment.
