Stainless Steel Reducing Elbow
Stainless steel reducing elbow, also known as reducing butt welding elbow and reducing elbow, is a kind of elbow fitting with different cross-sectional radius at both ends. It is mainly used to connect two sections of pipes with different end face radius, or to change the pipe diameter. The connection form of reducing butt welding elbow is butt welding, that is, the elbow is directly welded to the steel pipe. This connection method has the characteristics of high strength and good sealing.

What Are The Main Uses Of Reducing Butt Welding Elbows?

Industrial pipeline system: In many industrial fields such as petrochemical, electric power, metallurgy, etc., reducing butt welding elbows are widely used to connect pipelines of different diameters, realize the turning and diameter adaptation of pipelines in the process flow, and ensure that materials (such as oil, natural gas, steam, various chemical raw materials, etc.) can be smoothly transmitted in the pipeline.
Building water supply and drainage and heating system: In the field of construction, it can be used to connect water supply pipes, drainage pipes and heating pipes of different diameters, making the pipeline layout of the entire system more reasonable and smooth, meeting the requirements of pipeline diameter and direction for different areas and different water or heating equipment in the building.
How Do We Produce Top-quality Butt Weld Reducing Elbow?
Material preparation
Material selection: Select suitable materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel according to design requirements and working environment.
Inspection: Perform chemical composition analysis and mechanical property test on the selected materials to ensure that the quality meets the standards.
Forming
Cutting: Use cutting equipment to cut the pipe into appropriate lengths according to the specifications of the elbow.
Hot push: Heat the cut pipe to the appropriate temperature, put it into the push machine for push forming, and bend it into the required elbow shape under the extrusion of the mold.
Shaping: Shape the elbow after pushing, and adjust it several times until the size and shape meet the design requirements.
Welding
Bevel treatment: Open a groove at the connection between the elbow and the pipe. The shape and size of the groove are selected according to the welding method and material properties.
Welding: Connect the elbow and the pipe by butt welding. Control the current, voltage, and welding speed during welding to ensure the quality and strength of the weld.
Weld inspection: Perform visual inspection, non-destructive testing (such as X-ray, ultrasonic testing), and mechanical property testing on the weld to ensure that the weld quality meets the standards.
Heat treatment
According to the material characteristics and design requirements, the elbow after welding is heat treated. The main purpose is to eliminate welding stress and improve the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the material. Common methods include annealing, normalizing, quenching and tempering.
Inspection and testing
Dimension inspection: Use measuring tools to inspect the dimensions of the elbow to ensure that it meets the design requirements.
Pressure test: Perform pressure test on the elbow to check its ability to withstand pressure. During the test, the pressure needs to be gradually increased, and the deformation and leakage of the elbow need to be observed.
Other tests: According to the design requirements and working environment, other tests may also be required, such as corrosion resistance test, fatigue performance test, etc.
Surface treatment
Rust removal and cleaning: The elbows are rust-removed and cleaned to remove impurities such as oxides and oil stains on the surface.
Anti-corrosion treatment: The elbows are treated with anti-corrosion according to the requirements of the working environment. Common anti-corrosion methods include painting, hot-dip galvanizing, etc.
